Junior Dragons’ Den is a student business competition and call to action for entrepreneurs from Grades’ 7 to College/ Trades school level  to create their own summer job/ business, or to expand an existing one. The competition is open to students from throughout the East and West Kootenay.

Students may enter the competition in one of the following categories:

Junior – Grades 7-10

Senior – Grade 11-12

Post-Secondary – College/ University/ Trades

Over $9000 in cash & prizes awarded in 2016!

Selkirk-college-nelson-tenth-campus-map Junior Dragons Den is a youth based business competition. It’s designed to provide leadership and develop entrepreneurial skills amongst students in Grades 7-College/ Trades and University level from throughout the Columbia Basin in BC.

Junior Dragons who qualify for the competition are matched with mentors from the local business community who assist them with preparing a dynamic one page business plan and final video pitch in preparation for one of two regional competitions. The winners from each regional competition automatically advance to the Junior Dragons Den Championship. Competition dates are as follows:

2017 Junior Dragons Den Championship

 Saturday May 6th, Charles Bailey Theatre, Trail, B.C.

Where– Charles Bailey theatre, 1501 Cedar Ave.

Time – 6 pm Free admission. Seating on a first come, first served basis. Doors open 530pm

How voting works for each business– 50% rests with the judges and 50% rests with the audience. The audience votes electronically in real time!
