Andrea Wilkey

Andrea is the Executive Director of Community Futures Central Kootenay, which supports entrepreneurs to be successful and communities to be economically healthy.

Andrea’s background is in communications and marketing in the tourism, ski and restaurant industries as well as community development.

Andrea’s career in the tourism industry involved shaping programs for Tourism Whistler, Sun Peaks Resort and the Canadian Tourism Commission leveraging the impact of the 2010 Olympics with the U.S. market. Andrea also spent 7 years with Boston Pizza International building marketing initiatives for stores in Western Canada and building strategic partnerships to support regional initiatives.

Mark Laver

Mark Laver is Castlegar & District’s new Economic Development Manager.

Mark spent twenty years providing market research and competitive intelligence consulting services to North America’s leading technology and energy companies. He has been involved in a wide range of new product development initiatives for companies such as Intel, Microsoft, Apple, Direct Energy and TransCanada, to name a few.

Mark’s technology work has been profiled in many national and local newspapers and he has been interviewed by the CBC’s –The National, Global News, the Business News Network, and National Public Radio in the US.

Doug Mann

Doug Mann is Manufacturing Director for Pacific Insight Electronics, global provider of electronic products and full service solutions to the automotive and commercial vehicle markets, and is responsible for Nelson operations.

Doug has enjoyed a 35 year career in the automotive manufacturing industry with responsibilities in engineering, product development, marketing/sales, and manufacturing operations.  During the course of his career, he co-founded a $25 million start-up, introduced new automotive products, and launched and directed operations for 18 manufacturing plants throughout North America, producing over 500,000 specialty vehicles and $950 million in sales.

As recent transplants from Detroit, Doug and his wife Brenda are enjoying life in Nelson, the stunning beauty of the Kootenays, and the embracing warmth of its people.

Marina Pavan

Marina has a strong entrepreneurial background with eight years’ experience in running her own business and involvement with other family owned operations. Additionally as the Self-Employment Coordinator for Community Futures Boundary she has worked with a wide range of different businesses.

This knowledge and experience within the self-employment sector has enabled her to understand the importance and positive impact that through business planning, business support and customer relations can have on a business.

Bill Reid

Former Superintendent of Schools and CEO of Nelson’s largest employer, Bill has extensive experience in education, budgeting,  organizational leadership, business and administration.  Bill has established a thriving consulting practice and is actively involved in a number of volunteer leadership roles in the greater community.

Brandon Byers

Brandon is the owner of the Tim Hortons Trail location. Brandon has more than 11 years of experience in franchising. He has operated business in fields ranging from home services and restaurants to health and wellness. In this time Brandon has experienced what it takes to win as a small business and has had the pleasure of coaching and leading dozens of young leaders.

Brandon and his wife moved to the Kootenays from Toronto 3 years ago and are enjoying the Kootenay lifestyle. Brandon’s favourite way to spend his free time is with his wife and young son.

Jesse Olsen

Jessie grew up in Dawson Creek, BC. She attended Northern Lights College where she received her Associate of Arts in Fine Arts diploma. She then moved to Toronto, ON, to attend a unique three year program at Humber Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, completing an Advanced Diploma in Packaging and Graphic Design. She has had many achievements, including helping in the success of a national health products brand: Lakota Canada. Jessie moved to Tumbler Ridge in 2013. She currently works in Economic Development at the District of Tumbler Ridge, and is also a freelance graphic designer.

Trainer-Speaker-Seminar Leader, Certified DreamBuilder Coach (LMI), founder of Dream Builder Academy Online. For over 20 years Mila Lansdowne has worked with organizations and individuals, helping them build their dreams, accelerate their results, and create richer, more fulfilling lives.

Mila Lansdowne, (Bachelor of Trade & Commerce). Is trainer, author and online educator specialized in evocative business coaching for small and micro businesses. She is a mentor with Women’s Enterprise Centre of BC and a Premier Member of the Women Speaker Association.

Roxanne Gulick

Partner & owner of Wild River Adventure Tours and volunteer Board president of Tumbler Ridge Geo Park, Roxanne brings an equal balance of administrative, adventure, leadership and financial expertise to the N.E. BC Junior Dragons Den team.

Steve Tory

Steve Tory has operated an ICT consultancy in Tumbler Ridge for over 5 years now. He has 20 years experience in the field and works within a broad range of industries and technologies. As a mentor he’s provided advice on web development, marketing, and social media outreach.
